A lovely cloudscape photo from the Paps of Jura taken from the Bridgend road. I don't want to repeat this everytime but sunrise really is such a beautiful period of the day on Islay, I have the pictures to prove it :-)

Ballygrant Inn and Mist on Islay

A very special early morning in May was the time when this image was taken. In the picture you see the Ballygrant Inn on the left and another one of my favourite trees on Islay. The sun that came up caused a rainbow like arch in the image.

Ardtalla Beach Islay

Ardtalla Beach on Islay's east coast is, in my humble opinion, one of the most beautiful and unspoilt beaches on Islay. You can find it just beyond Claggain Bay. There is more information, pictures and a panorama image in a separate blog post about Ardtalla Beach

I like to watch the clouds and the Islay skies are often very much worth looking at. Although many prefer a clear blue sky I don't mind some clouds if only for the effect.

Loch Gruinart and Killinallan Point

A view from the Killinallan road towards Loch Gruinart and the Killinallan Dunes. On the sandbank you can see a group of seals. The mountains in the distance belong to the Isle of Mull.

A House in Bowmore

This is definitely my favourite tree on Islay and you can find it near Ardnahoe on the Bunnahabhain Road. This image shows just the tree, the next image shows its position in the landscape, which is stunning if you ask me.
